  • Lackawanna Student-Athletes Recognized Nationally for Academic Proficiency

    Nineteen members of the Lackawanna College athletic teams were recently acknowledged nationally for their achievements in the classroom. The nineteen were named by the National Junior College Athletic Association to its All-Academic Team.
  • Former Falcon Kyzir White selected by Chargers in NFL Draft

    Saturday, the Los Angeles Chargers picked former Lackawanna College football player Kyzir White with the 19th pick in the fourth round of the 2018 National Football League College Draft. White was the 119th player chosen overall.

  • Former Falcons to Participate in NFL Combine

    Scranton, PA – Starting Friday and running through Monday March 5th, the National Football League will conduct its annual NFL combine. It is an invitation only event where players perform physical and mental tests in front of National Football League coaches, general managers, and scouts for the purpose of evaluating those players for the league's annual draft. This year approximately 350 college football players have been invited to this event that is being held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. This year's invites include two former Lackawanna College players, Ka'Raun White and his brother Kyzir White.

    SCRANTON, Pa. – Ten outstanding student-athletes from the Lackawanna College Falcons football team signed their National Letters of Intent today, Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018 to continue their athletic and academic careers at some of the most notable institutions in the country.

The cancellation is the result of winter weather that is predicted for the greater Scranton area. Watch this site for an announcement as to where our student/athletes committed.
  • Lackawanna Football – Signing Day

    Lackawanna College and its football program will host a National Signing Day event on Wednesday, February 7 from 9 – 10 a.m. to celebrate its football players as they commit to continuing their careers at four-year colleges and universities.  The event will take place in Peoples Security Bank Theater at Lackawanna College, which is located inside Angeli Hall at 501 Vine St., Scranton, Pa.  Breakfast refreshments will be available to all attendees prior to the start of the event.

  • Five Lackawanna Football Players take advantage of NCAA Early Signing Period

    Lackawanna College and its Football program are honored to announce that five members of its 2017 football team have taken advantage of the NCAA early signing window and have committed to continue their student/athlete careers at NCAA Division I schools. Those five include Chase Brown, University of Pittsburgh; Terry Bradley, University of Maryland; Michael Dare, Sam Houston State; Daymon Anderson, UNC-Charlotte; and, Elijah Harrison, Central Connecticut State College.

    Scranton, PA - This past football season, JaQuan Brisker established himself as one of Lackawanna College’s premiere defensive players. He recorded 54 tackles in nine games, picked off four passes and returned two of those interceptions for touchdowns. His play earned him a selection to the Northeast Football All Conference First Team as a safety; a nomination for the NJCAA All American team; and, the honor of being named Falcons’ “Most Valuable Defensive Player”. Yet who is JaQuann and what inspires him to these accomplishments.

  • Falcons conclude season with win over Georgia Military College

    Huntington, WV – Sunday afternoon, in a game played at Marshall University, the Lackawanna College Football team ended their 2017 regular season with a 41-34 win over Georgia Military College. With the victory, the Falcons concluded their season with 7-2 win/loss record.
  • Falcons lose to College of DuPage

    Glen Ellyn, IL – Saturday afternoon the Lackawanna College Football team fell to College of DuPage by 24-0 score. It was Lackawanna’s second loss of the year and leaves the Falcons with a 6-2 win/loss record for the 2017 season.

    Scranton, PA - The Lackawanna College Football team used four consecutive first half scoring drives to secure a 35-12 Homecoming win over Hocking College. The win improved their win/loss record to 6-1 and keeps them in contention for a bowl game invitation.

    New Rochele, NY – The Lackawanna College Football team shutout Monroe College 19-0 to remain in consideration for an NJCAA bowl invitation. The win helps the Falcons’ bowl resume since Monroe was ranked 15th in the country going into today’s contest.

    Uniondale, NY: Saturday afternoon, the Lackawanna College football team lost their first game of the of the 2017 season, losing to ASA College 21-14.
  • Lackawanna beats Erie to remain Unbeaten

    Scranton, PA – For the fourth straight game, the Lackawanna College football team scored 40+ points to improve their win/loss record to an unbeaten 4-0. Saturday night, it was a 49-14 win over the Kats of Erie Community College. With that win, the Falcons have averaged 50 points a game while relinquishing and average of 20.5 points.
  • ASA reschedules Kickoff for its game against Lackawanna College

    Scranton, PA – Kickoff for the football game between Lackawanna College and ASA College, originally scheduled for 8:00 pm on Saturday, October 7th, has been rescheduled. The start time for that contest is now scheduled for 4:00 pm.
  • Lackawanna beats Nassau in wild contest
    September 23, 2017
    Scranton, PA – Saturday night, fans at the Lackawanna College – Nassau Community College game saw a contest where points were scored in almost every conceivable way. There were five rushing touchdowns, five passing TDs, a pick six by Lackawanna’s London Cloud, three field goals, two safeties and a blocked extra point that was returned for points by Branyon Javier-Castillo. There was also a fumble returned for score and a score on a kick-off return, however those two scores were erased when it was determined that the runner was down before the fumble and the latter was called back because of a penalty. Despite all that action, what will be remembered about this game, was the combined running efforts of Jo-El Shaw and Eric Finney , who together ran for 238 yards and four touchdowns.
  • Lackawanna Football Players gain weekly honors

    On Saturday, the 9th ranked Lackawanna College Football beat the New Jersey Warriors 56-14 to improve their overall record to 2-0. Three Falcon players had an impressive on field performances during that game and were recognized by the Northeast Football Conference as players of the week in their respective specialties.
  • Lackawanna Steamrolls New Jersey Warriors

    Scranton, PA -  Saturday afternoon the Lackawanna College football team rolled down the field, like a steam engine at full steam, to claim a 56-14 win over the New Jersey Warriors. Like a steam engine there was a little slippage at the start when the Warriors returned a Lackawanna fumble 50 yards for a score. However, after that score, the Falcons went into high gear to score four touchdowns before the Warriors put points on the scoreboard; and then scored four more TDs to close out the game.

    The Lackawanna College Football team offense exploded in the second half to claim a 47-15 opening day victory over the Vikings of Hudson Valley Community College. The Falcons scored 34 points in the second half after a sluggish start left them with a mire five-point,13-9, lead at halftime.

  • Lackawanna Football announces Historical Ranking and First Ever Media Day

    Scranton, PA – Lackawanna College announced today that its football team is ranked #5 in the Pre-Season National Poll released by the National Junior College Athletic. It is the highest pre-season ranking in the history of the program. This comes after a monster 2016 season where the Falcons went 10-1 and had a remarkable 29 players sign to play at the Division I level.

It seems every year since when Josh Francis started as an outside linebacker for West Virginia, a Lackawanna College transfer has contributed to the Mountaineer’s football success. This year is no exception.
