Lackawanna Challenges Conference Leader

After a lackluster first half that left Lackawanna down by 15 to Essex County College, the Falcons mounted a second half comeback to threaten Essex with their first conference loss of the season. Relying heavily on DeAndre Albritton's 28 second half points, Lackawanna tied the game at 66-66 with 9:21 left in the game. The game remained competitive through the 2:26 mark in the second half, when, with the score tied at 82, the Falcons lost their momentum and allowed Essex to go on to a 10-2 run to finish the game with a 92-84 win.

Notable Performances: DeAndre Albritton scored 28 points and dished out 5 assists; Shaquille Robinson and Antione Hackman both scored 15; Javon White scored 11 and registered 9 rebounds; and De'Vaughn Jones ended the night with 9 points and 8 rebounds.

Lackawanna is now 5-11 overall and has a 4-5 record in conference.

The Falcons take the floor again on Saturday as the second game of Lackawanna's "Cancer Awareness Basketball Doubleheader". The first game of this basketball twin bill (the women's game) is scheduled for 3:00 PM. The men's game will be played at the conclusion of that contest.
