Schnecksville, PA – Tuesday afternoon, the Lackawanna College softball team had their Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference doubleheader against Lehigh Carbon Community College come to an early end due to inclement weather. As a result of that weather, the first game came to an end after five-inning with the Falcons being shutout 5-0. Since it was considered a complete game, Lackawanna suffered a loss. The second game was canceled outright.
In the loss, Lackawanna compiled six hits, all singles, with Sierra Mulgrew having a multi-hit game. Mulgrew had two base hits in two at bats, while Paige Durkin, Kacey Orlowski, Brenda Reninga and Jordan Skoff contributed the teams other four hits.
On the mound Amanda Mowry suffered only her second loss of the season. Mowry gave up five runs on eight hits over three innings. She did strikeout six. Alexandria Thoman held LCCC scoreless and hitless in her only inning of relief. Mowry's win/loss record is now 9-2
The Lady Falcons will play again tomorrow, when they host Orange County Community College in a non-conference doubleheader. Tomorrow's twin-bill is scheduled for a 3:00 PM start and will be played at Jessup Youth Association's softball field on Route 247 in Jessup, Pennsylvania.
