Lackawanna sweeps EPAC tri-match

Nanticoke, PA – Sunday, the Lackawanna College Volleyball team swept an Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference tri-match by beating Community College of Philadelphia by a 3-1 score and Luzerne County Community College by a 3-0 tally. In the match against CC Philadelphia, Lackawanna won sets one, three and four by scores of 25-10, 25-13 and 25-12; while only losing the second set 25-18. The Falcons then shut out Luzerne winning three sets without a loss by set scores of 25-18, 25-15 and 25-17.

Lackawanna's top statistical performers in the match against CCP were Jordan Skoff with thirteen kills and eleven aces; Kayla Baney with five kills sixteen assists and six aces; and, Samantha Snashell with eight kills and two aces.

In commenting on that opening match, Head Coach, James Hummer said, "A well-played defense allowed us time to get our offense going".

The top performers in the match against Luzerne were Skoff, with fifteen kills and two aces, and Baney, with four kills, twenty-two assists and two aces.

The Falcons return to play next Saturday, September 7th, when they host Manor College and Valley Forge Military in an EPAC tri-match at the Lackawanna College Student Union. Start time for this event is 11:00 am.
