Falcons fall to Nationally Ranked Essex County College

Scranton, PA - The Lackawanna College men's basketball team stayed competitive with Essex County College for much of Wednesday evening before falling to the Wolverine's 88-76. The game was much closer than the score would indicate, as the Falcons trailed by only 6 (76-70) with 1:46 left in the game. Essex took control of the final minute and a half when they were perfect from the foul line as Lackawanna was forced into fouling in an attempt to get possession of the ball.

The leading scorer for Lackawanna was Cartier Talford with 26 points. Also scoring in double figures were Jonathan Williams with 15 points and Gil Benz with 14. Benz's points were the scoring part of a double-double that also saw him lead the team in rebounds with 11. Theron Redding led the team in assists with 4.

The Falcons play again on Friday as part of a Basketball doubleheader against ASA College. That game is scheduled to start at 7:00 PM.
