Lackawanna Upsets Harcum

Scranton, PA – Saturday  afternoon, the Lackawanna College men's basketball team used a 22 point scoring performance by Cartier Talford and a 21 point contribution by Gil Benz to upset Harcum College 89-85. Saturday's win was Lackawanna's first victory over the Bears since February 10, 2009 when the Falcons also won at home 90-80.

In addition to Talford and Benz, Juston Iton and Stevan Rodriguez also scored in double figures; Iton had 16, while Rodriguez had 12. The team high for rebounds was 5, with Talford, Benz and Iton sharing that lead. Benz was the leader in assists with 6.

The Falcons are off until Thursday when they host Raritan Valley Community College in a game that may have an important bearing on where they are seeded in the Region XIX DII Men's Basketball Tournament. Thursday's game is Lackawanna's final regular season home game. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
