Falcons Volleyball extend winning streak to five

(Newton, PA) – Lackawanna Women's Volleyball took both games in a Tri-match Saturday afternoon as they defeated Bucks County CC 3-1 (25-19, 25-23, 23-25, 26-24) and Manor College 3-0 (25-15, 25-6, 25-14) These two wins mark a 5 game winning streak for the Falcons, improving their record to 8-7.

The first match was against Bucks County CC. The Falcons won the first set 25-19 as Jordan Skoff managed to score 4 kills. During set 2, Brenda Reninga and Jordan Skoff both put 4 kills on the board to help take the set 25-23. As the Falcons looked to close out the match, Bucks was able to work back into the game. they took a close 3rd set 25-23. The 4th set saw both teams go down to the wire again. Skoff put up 5 kills, while getting 3 assists from Reninga and 1 from Townsend to clinch the set 26-24. Falcons defeat Bucks CC 3-1.

The second game of the night for Lackawanna was against Manor College. The Falcons took the first set 25-15 as they totaled 8 service aces between Keryne Brostoski, Stefanie Peck, Jordan Skoff, Amaya Townsend, and Karina Paulino. The Falcons dominated the 2nd set by a score of 25-6. Skoff laid down 5 kills, while the team produced 5 service aces. Performances by Keryne Brostoski (3 kills) and Brenda Reninga (4 assists) helped Lackawanna take the final set 25-14. Falcons defeat Manor College 3-0.

Lackawanna College will look to extend their 5 game winning streak on Tuesday 10/2/18 at 6pm as Montgomery County CC comes to Scranton PA. Tuesday's game will also be a special night for the team, it will be DIG PINK at the Student Union. All fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game for cancer awareness.
